This seems to be the trail from Kentucky to Indiana and part of the family to Missouri (Lawsons)
This is great but it surely presents another problem – matching these events to the birth records we have of the issue.......

Birth*between 1802 and 1804 Richard Lawson was born between 1802 and 1804 at Kentucky. 
(Witness) Census18101810 He is assumed to be one of the household of Richard Lawson in the 1810 census, Scott Co., Kentucky, who has In the 1810 and 1820 census records, a Richard Lawson was residing in Scott County, KY. Comments made by the following researchers who had done extensive research on "All John's Children" (John1 and Frances show first along borderline – Pennsylvania/Maryland) are as follows:

From Lawson Letters #16 page 130 William Frazier Lawson presented "Geographic Movements of Descendants of John Lawson" he accounted for "John Lawson2 –- sold ‘Lawson's Folly' in 1788, left PA – made will in 1798, Fayette Co., KY. The children of John2–- son James lived in Kentucky, Moses moved to Tennessee and of Richard he said "Son Richard – A Richard of the right age with a large family lived early in Scott Co., KY; no further trace to date" and son Thomas no trace found to date.

In 1999 I wrote to Terry Anderson of Maysville, KY who has written an extensive family record of his descent from John Lawson1 inquiring about Richard the son of John2. His response was, "I looked through my information on the Richard Lawson of Scott Co., KY. Although I don't have proof, it appears that this Richard, Sr. may be a son of John and Sarah Lawson. I am guessing that the same Richard is the one listed in 1784, Hampshire Co., VA with the others......" (The others would likely have been Uncle Thomas1 family -- brother of John2.)

The 1810 census for Scott Co., KY, (handwritten page #639 enumerated on the 5th day of Dec. 1810 by John T. Johnson) Richard Lawson pg 171b3 (32.1.1.2.1...) Neighbor surnames Springer, Jenkins, Jones might (by tradition) be significant if followed up.

The 1820 census for Scott Co., KY Richard Lawson is on page 105 (22.1.1.10000). Edward Lawson was on page 108 with a close neighbor John M. Noe (surety for marriage of Richard Lawson and Casandra Amos).

John2 Lawson apparently died in Fayette Co., KY shortly after his will was made in 1798. A Sarah Lawson (possibly his wife, Sarah Harratt Lawson) shows in Fayette Co. KY census in 1800. The reports show that the will is extant and mentions wife Sarah; son James (appointed executor); Thomas; David; Moses; Richard; Walter; and daughters Rachel and Ann with John Stonestreet, Samuel Galey and Thomas Walters as witnesses.

Richard and Casandra Lawson disappeared from the Kentucky Census and likely moved to Rush Co., Indiana before 1830. The census there shows Richard Lawson, Sr. and Richard Lawson, Jr. (John1, John2, Richard, Richard,Sr, and Richard, Jr. Henry) with the ages and number in household commensurate with past and future records.

Richard, Sr. and Richard, Jr. Lawson showed up in Missouri in 1840 , 1850. Richard, Jr. later moved to Arkansas.

Marriage*2 December 1824 Richard Lawson married Cassandra Amos, daughter of Mordecai Amos and Patience Speirs-Spires, on 2 December 1824 at Fayette Co., Kentucky, Mary Alice Lawson malawson@snowcrest.net, referring to Maxwell's death reference to mother being a Crane, and referring to Mary R's death reference to mother being an Amos, said:
We have found no trace of a Casandra Crane/Crain marrying a Lawson. A number of Crains did marry into the Amos family and did move to eastern part of Missouri.
She goes on to say:
We tend to be "chasing" the death report of Mary (Lawson) White which was reported by a son rather than an outsider and the fact that we can find evidence of this marriage:
From Fayette Co., KY records Vol. III, page 187: "Richard Lawson to Cassandra Amos, with John M. Noe as surety Nov. 30 1824. Richard Lawson gave consent for his son Richard, stating he was of age."
The other thing we did find was that according to the Marriage Book in Lexington, Fayette Co., KY in 1824, Richard Lawson and Casandra A. were married by Jno. Shackleford 2 Dec 1824.

Deed*13 December 1828  On 13 December 1828 Richard Lawson bought land from Richard Lawson at Deed book B pg 588, Rush Co., Indiana, recorded 10 Dec 1829 - This indeture made and entered into this 13th day of december in the year of our Lord one thousand and twenty eight between Richard Lawson Senr of the first part and Richard Lawson Jr of the second part both of the county of Rush and the state of Indiana. Witnesseth that I Richard Lawson Senr have this day bequeathed donated and given and by these presents do bequeath donate and give to my son Richard Lawson Jr a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county of Rush and the state of Indiana and in the district of public lands, sold at Indianapolis being part of the south east quarter of section 17 in township 12 of range 10, beginning at the centre of sec 7. Thence east forty four and one half rods to a stake near a small branch, thence 6 degrees E 80 poles to a stake by two beaches, thens S 84 degrees 30 W 9 rods to a stake by two bushes thence S 6 degrees 30 degrees E 80 rods to a section line, thence along said line west 3_ to a half mile stake, thence north with open line to place of beginning containing 40 acres, to him and his forever for their special use and benefit. And I Richard Lawson duly bind myself my heirs executors and asignes to warrant and forever defend the above described premises to all and singular the appurtences therunto belonging or in anywise pertaining to the said Richard Lawson Jr and hisheirs executors administrators and assigns free from the claim or claims of any person or persons whomsoever. Census1830*1830 Richard Lawson was the head of the household in the 1830 census, Rush Co., Indiana, with pg 308 Richard Lawson Jr 3m0-5 1m20-30 1f20-30. 
Note He One veterans document written on the life of Maxwell Robards Lawson has a note: "Brother, Willie, age 12 died in two weeks during the epidemic of what was then called bloody flux. ..... He (Maxwell) was the 6th of nine children." (1844 must be wrong year for moving to Missouri by the census records and births of children). However, it would be logical to have had the two children John and Willie in the line up of 9 children with the ages as indicated. Other names appear in the household for various census reports but who the other child was has not been established.1

This indenture made and executed this twenty second day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty one by and between Moss Prewitt and Nancy Prewitt his wife of the first part and Richard Lawson of the other all of the County of Boone and State of Missouri. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred & fifty dollars paid by the said Lawon to the said Prewit and wife, the said Prewit & wife doth hereby grant bargain and sell to him the said Lawsone one certain farm or tract of lands lying and being in Boone County & State of Missouri and known as the East half of the South West quarter of Section One Township Forty nine and Range Thirteen containing eighty two and one half acres be the same more or less to have and to hold to him the said Lawson his heirs and assigns forever the aforesaid farm or tract of land together with all and singular the privileges and appurtenances therunto belonging or in any way appertaining free from the claim or claims of all and every persons whatsoever in testemony whereof we have herunto set our hands and seals the day and date above written.

This indenture made and entered into this the twenty third of March 1846 between Thomas Stone of the county of Boone and Sate of Missouri of the one part and Richard Lawson also of said County and State of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Stone for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said Lawson the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged has granted and sold and does of these presents grant bargain and sell unto said Lawson his heirs to one certain tract of land lying & situate in the County of Boone aforesaid designated as follows to wit the North West Quarter of the South West Quarter of Section One in Township Forty Nine Range Thirteen containing forty acres to have and to hold the same with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining to the land the said Stone does by these presents bind himself his heirs & to warrent and defend the title of the land hereby confveyed to the said Lawson, his heirs & against the claijm or claims of every and all persons whatsoever either in law or equity. The family being absent at the time, not a single article of furniture or clothing was saved. Loss between $1500 and $2000. No insurance, notwithstanding we have an insurance office in Columbia. When will our citizens evidence a true regard to their own interests? On 23 January 1854 at Columbia MO Statesman Newpaper, Boone Co., Missouri.

Death*3 February 1872 He died on 3 February 1872 at Boone Co., Missouri.

Richard's original tombstone was broken but a photo was taken of it so we had the replacement made as much like the original as possible. Casandra's headstone was dug up by Clarence Lawson and it was reset also. It was buried under about 8" of soil and grass. "Richard Lawson Died Feb 3, 1872 aged 70 years" (has masonic emblem)

LAWSON, RICHARD; R H and M R Lawson, admrs. Richard H Lawson of Audrain Co; M R Lawson of Saline Co; Darkeso E Lawson; Mary White, and the heirs of Delila Stone, all of Boone Co. Heirs of Delila Stone are James M, Amanda P, and Davis B Stone with T.H. Stone as guardian. James T Fagg also receives legacy. Gr. Geb. 5, 1872. FS May 18, 1874.
Inventory shows real estate: 80 acres being the E 1/2 of the SW 1/4 of section 1 townshp 49, range 13; and 40 acres being the NW 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of same section, town and range.
