Birth*1802 Cassandra Amos was born in 1802 at Kentucky age 68 when died. 58 in 1860. In addition to my own analysis leading to Mordecai being the father of Cassandra, this also seems to be the concludion of Mrs Jeanette C Noe of Leonard TX whose husband descends from one Mordecai Amos of Jessamine Co KY. This is per Mt Soma Supplement pg 82. It is unknown if Jeanette is still living though she's probably deceased due to her age - Eona Jeanette COVEY b.24 Sep 1918 in Garden City, Finney Co., Kansas, married 5 Jul 1941 in Raton, Colfax Co., New Mexico to Charles Louis NOE b: 16 DEC 1911 d: 9 MAR 1984

Lending weight to my conclusions is the fact that Cassandra's purported sister Mary Ann married John M Noe who signed the marriage bond for Richard and Cassandra.
Another lead to Jeanette is Steve & Jeannie Noe Carlisle / Nabb, IN / Steve & Jeannie pcmom@aol.com as of 2004. Maybe she's a daughter?1,2
Note* She and Thomas Amos It's worth noting that Thomas's son Nicholas is living next door to Cassandra's fatherinlaw in 1850 but Thomas can't be her father because she's not mentioned in the will.
(Witness) Census18101810 Cassandra Amos is assumed to be one of the household of Mordecai Amos in the 1810 census, Barren Co., Kentucky, who has "Mordica Amos" 1m0-10 (child 7), 1m16-26 (child 2), 1m26-45 (child 1), 1m45+ (Mordecai Sr)

We have found no trace of a Casandra Crane/Crain marrying a Lawson. A number of Crains did marry into the Amos family and did move to eastern part of Missouri.
She goes on to say:
We tend to be "chasing" the death report of Mary (Lawson) White which was reported by a son rather than an outsider and the fact that we can find evidence of this marriage:
From Fayette Co., KY records Vol. III, page 187: "Richard Lawson to Cassandra Amos, with John M. Noe as surety Nov. 30 1824. Richard Lawson gave consent for his son Richard, stating he was of age."
The other thing we did find was that according to the Marriage Book in Lexington, Fayette Co., KY in 1824, Richard Lawson and Casandra A. were married by Jno. Shackleford 2 Dec 1824.
According to the majority of census records our Richard and Cassandra were each born in Kentucky. The given name "Richard" has followed pretty consistently through the later generations. http://www.rootsweb.com/~inclark/noe.txt for more info on John Noe.
