He married first time in 1593 to Margaretha [or Margarethe] (Brumback) Kerlen, widow of Johann Kerlen of Musen. (Margaretha married the first time in 1590, the 15th Sunday after Trinity, to Johann Kerlen of Musen). Margaretha was born probably born about 1565-70 and was the daughter of "Jost in der Brumbach" (or Brumback) of Musen. Friedrich and Margaretha had nine (9) children; three (3) of the sons were named Johann or Johannes Kemper. Jost, the eldest child, was christened the 14th Sunday after Trinity, 1595, and married at Freudenberg in 1627 (banns October 20, 1627) to Margareta Wurm, daughter of Margareta Wurm, daughter of Henrich Wurm of Plittershagen. The next son, Johann Kemper, was christened the third (3rd) Sunday after Epiphany, 1598, and appears to be the ancestor of the American Kempers, as he was married in 1620. The next brother, Johann, was born in 1601 and was christened the 14th Sunday after Trinity, 1601. Maragaretha Kemper died at Musen in 1609 and was buried November 24, 1609. After her death, Friedrich Kemper married the second time, the second (2nd) Sunday after Advent, 1610, to Barbara Irle, daughter of Lorenz and Barbara (Guden) Irle. (Barbara Guden Irle, wife of Lorenz Irle, was the daughter of Caspar Guden. Lorenz and Barbara Guden Irle were married 1582). Barbara (Irle) Kemper was born in 1585 and was christened on March 5, 1585. Friedrich and Barbara (Irle) Kemper had five (5) children, and again three (3) of them were named Johann or Johannes. After Friedrich Kemper's death in 1624, Barbara (Irle) Kemper married the second time to Johann Viler of Musen."1 |
