10 - Three Points

This check point is distinguished with a capable Medical team along with servers who provide nourishment to the runners.  Three Points is approximately mid way through the race.  We’re open and ready by 10:30 AM with runners beginning to arrive after 11.  Runners check in and leave throughout the day until 6PM when Three Points closes.  Radio Operations stays on duty until about 7PM to confirm the final runner to leave Three Points has safely reached the next check point.
Your Radio Operators are Chris Owens – KB6MYR (Voice) and Tony Mollica  -WA6IOF (Packet).  Radio operations are enclosed in the Silver tent that is provided by Chris. 

A unique feature of Three Points is runners enter the check point down the road and out of sight of the tent.  Chris strings up a ring down phone line for radio volunteers who are working that end of Three Points to call and report runner arrival times.  Three Points is located approximately26 Miles from the 2 Freeway, on Angeles Crest Highway.
