Uncle John Sapp, ages 92 years and 5 months, and perhaps the oldest citizen of Boone county, died at the home of Levy Hagans, near Wilson, at 8 am Friday, April 10 1896, of pneumonia, and was buried at Goshen, Saturday at 11 o'clock, Elder Ira Turner preaching the sermon. Deceased was a _____ _____ _____ and for 70 years had enjoyed the friendship and _____ of the people of this county. He was born in Kent county Delaware, Oct 14, 1804 and at the age of ten years came with his parents to Bourbon county Kentucky, and from there to Pike county, Mo. in 1922. From there he came to Boone county in 1826 and has since resided here a period of 70 years. His illness was of short duration.
