Correspondant Barbara Anderson, 70 Pine Ridge Way, Portola Valley CA 94028 poses the following questions regarding Nathan (1st).
1) Did Nathan (1st) receive bounty land and want to go claim it? The National Archives says there's no record of bounty warrants for him. 2) Why did Nathan go to western PA without his wife? Were they separated - meaning divorce? My thought right now is that he could no longer work full time and had no money, so the children decided that three of them would support Dad and three would support Mom.
