To-Do | Edwin Judson Robinson was to-do He had land $1300 in 1870. He has land with a mortgage in 1900. A search needs to be done in Peoria in the land records, plus a thorough search of all records available at the courthouse, especially civil records and all records that haven't been microfilmed and available at SLC. The Peoria Public Library has a genealogy section, that also needs to be searched for any clues. Surrounding counties may also give clues. If research done on spot, putting together other Robinson families may yield results as well, better than what we've come up with so far. While there, photos should also be taken of his tombstone. Other people with Peoria connections to check out (as time available) are:Baughman (J14), Capps (J30), Eslinger J22, & Roberts (J8). On 15 Jan 99, I posted this to Roots-L Anyone with access to Peoria IL papers for 1919? I'm in need of an obit for Edwin Judson Robinson who died 6 Jun 1919 (age 85). Though he died in Chicago, he'd only been there for a few months because of his illness. He was buried in Springdale Cemetery in Peoria. We've got his death certificate which doesn't have his parents names, and we are hoping there is something in his obit to give us a clue. The friend who is trying to find this info is willing to pay. I got back this response: I just recently moved from Peoria, Il. Contact the Peoria Public Library. They have a genealogy section, along with copies from old newspapers. I do believe someone there will do a look-up for you. | |
