Birth* | 6 August 1912 | Robert H. Stoneking was born on 6 August 1912 at Macomb, McDonough Co., Illinois. |
Note* | He was listed as surviving child, living at home in Macomb, in Fred Stoneking's 1914 obituary. Obituary notes: He was a retired brick mason. He was a lifetime resident of the Colchester area, a veteran of WWII and a member of Macomb VFW Post 1921. He was buried with military rites by Macomb VFW Post 1921. 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren survived. Also lists a deceased half-brother named John Carpenter and two half-sisters: Esther Clark and Cora Coghill. Among materials provided by Richard Jackson was a newspaper article about a County Highway Baseball team win over Bardolph where Bob Stoneking pitched a two-hit game. Article not cited or dated, but is in similar type to obituaries from the 1910s. It is also copied on a page along with Robert H. Stoneking's obituary. Richard Jackson's practice is to group family related clippings together so it is probable that the article is about the Robert H. Stoneking. | |
