Would like data on family of Nicholas Amos, who settled in Rush Co.
before 1840. He married there on 10 April, 1841, Sarah Lawson (widow). He
brought with him from Bourbon Co., Ky. seven children by his first wife,
Mary (Polly) (Collier) Mountjoy. She was a daughter of John Collier, of
Nicholas Co., Ky., and married, first, George Mountjoy, Jr., in 1806, and
had four children with him. She remarried in 1814, Nicholas Amos. They had
the seven children mentioned earlier: John C., Catherine, Polly Ann,
Cynthia, Amanda, James and Olive. I don't know if Mary Collier Mountjoy went
to Rush Co. with Nicholas, or died in Kentucky. I'd like data on the
children he had with Mary. Thanks, Ed Dolan. edolan@worldinter.net 22 Jan 2001.
