"States that John Heavin, youngest son of William and Barbara (Shell) Heavin, came into possession of the property on Plum Creek after all the other Heavins moved to Putnam County, Indiana. The property was purchased in 1819. The Grist Mill and log house had been built by Henry Bingerman of Pepper's Ferry in 1796." Barbara is the sister-in-law of William Sale, so it would appear that later on the Heavin's and the Sale's both went north to Putnam County, Indiana, by way of Wilkes County, North Carolina, where William died. Cornelius, William's son, also died in Wilkes County, NC. Cornelius's son, Samuel left Wilkes County, NC, Abt 1815. They traveled to Putnam County, IN and then on to Niles, Berrian, MI. The reason for going to Putnam could be because the Heavins were there. After Samuel's death, Nancy and nine children went to Stanberry, Gentry, MO.
