Story* From book by Canfield, previously cited, page 24.
The family name, Ohrendorf, has changed down through the years. It
has been spelled Orndorf(f), Ohndorff, Orendorf(f), Ohrndorf, Orntorff,
Aerendorff, and undoubtedly several other ways. It was probably the name
of a farm or a village originally.
The earliest record of an Ohrendorf (the name I will use most of the time)
was found in the Freudenberg area of West Central Germany east of Colongne
on the Rhine River and west of Marburg. Freudenberg is just northwest of Siegen
and Siegen is northeast of Bonn on the Rhine River and southeast of Cologne.
In 1577 there was a widow, Barbara, of Orendorf. Her husband had
died previous to 1577. In the tax office at Freudenberg she had a tax bill
of 1 1/2 Gulden.

Marriage* (__________) Orendorf married Barbara (__________)
Death*before 1577 (__________) Orendorf died before 1577 at prob near Freudenberg, Nassau-Siegen, Germany.
