| Story* | From Canfield book, previously cited, page 29. There seems to be a problem with the name Giebeler. It is said that there were Giebeler families living in Wahlbach in the 1600's but not in Freudenberg. It has been suggested that the pastor in the Freudenberg marriage record in 1685 wrote the name as Gieseler when it should have been Giebeler. [Canfield also noted:] Godfried Gibeler lived in Wahlbach in the Burbach church district near Siegen. [Implied, but not stated, is that Godfried is the father of Johannes]. | |
