Military*16 April 1777 He was in the military on 16 April 1777 at Huntingdon Co., Pennsylvania, PA Archives 5th series v.3 pg 658 (Evd 374) shows him in the roll of the 7th Company as a private and says he is 21, 5' 3¾", farmer, England, 16 Apr 1777. In 5th series v.4 pg 532 (Evd 375), under Huntingdon County, it says "William Fields testified he enlisted at Carlisle in Capt. Waugh's Company, Sixth Regt., commanded by Col. Irvin. He served two years and was then discharged. He was in the Battle of Monmouth in the detachment commanded by Genl. Wayne. He lost the scond fingerof his right hand in said Battle. He preserved his discharge twenty years, after which it was burned with all his household furniture. His proper name is FIELDS, but is generally called FEELY, but does not know by which name he entered the Muster Roll."
     Per Virgil White index, he does not have a pension. 
Death*1825 He died in 1825 at Hopewell Twnshp, Huntingdon Co., Pennsylvania.
