Military* He was in the military at Bedford Co., Pennsylvania, Military Services and Genealogical Records of Soldiers of Blair County PA by Hoenstine, 1940. SLC 974.875 - Page 45 (Evd 376) says he served as a Private in captain John Boyd's Bedford County and was killed by the Indians the 3rd of Jun 1782 at the Battle of Frankstown. Widow and minor children were awarded a pension by Bedford County. [There is no federal pension]
     Blair County's First Hundred Years by Blair Co His Soc, 1945. SLC 974.875 H2w - pg 103 (Evd 377) described the battle that killed him. "Captain Boyd's forces, numbering at least forty, left the block house on Sundy morning, June 3rd, and as they approached the Kittanning trail in the vicinity of the mouth of Sugar Run, they were fired upon from ambuscade by a party of Seneca Indians number 83." 
Death*3 June 1781 He died on 3 June 1781 at Frankston, Blair Co., Pennsylvania, Killed by Indians at Battle of Frankstown.
