Widow and minor children were awarded a pension by Bedford County. [There is no federal pension]
Blair County's First Hundred Years by Blair Co His Soc, 1945. SLC 974.875 H2w - pg 103 (Evd 377) described the battle that killed him. "Captain Boyd's forces, numbering at least forty, left the block house on Sundy morning, June 3rd, and as they approached the Kittanning trail in the vicinity of the mouth of Sugar Run, they were fired upon from ambuscade by a party of Seneca Indians number 83." |
