| Note* | | Matilda Stoneking Obituary notes: She was born in Greene County, PA and arrived in Illinois in 1846 via steamboat. She had seven brothers and three sisters all of whom died before she did. She had sixty-eight grandchildren, ten who died before her, and 31 great-grandchildren. "She was a good mother and trained her children to be always truthful and honest. In her last days she professed faith in Christ and she was ready to go and meet her Savior. She suffered many days but never complained. But now has gone to rest where there is no pain or death. Card of Thanks--The children wish to thank the friends for their kind assistance in helping care for their mother in her last illness." |
