Yes, my mom died in August 1992 or 91. I can_t remember off the top of my head. I had moved to Washington six weeks earlier and both my folks came out for a visit to see where my son Bannack and I had settled. Shortly after they returned home my mom went for a ride on her cart and tipped over, hitting her head. Of course she refused to go to a doctor. Well, 3 days later my dad found her on the floor in front of the bathroom. I miss her very much. My dad passed away in September of 1996 of an apparent cardiac arrest. That is the short version of it all. Yes, we are close to the same age. Mine is 5/10/56. Who is Bills mom? I think she came to visit me here in Washington. 15 years ago? I can_t remember. Paulina? This is great. The older I get the more I want to know about my genealogy. I could fill you in on some details about my mom_s history perhaps. I will have to tell my brother Van about you. Dad and your mom are first cousins. Their moms were Flanagan sisters. You and I are second cousins, and if my dad_s genealogy records are correct, we are about the same age (I was born 9/7/56). I_ve kind of taken over the family genealogy duties. You spoke of your mom in past tense. When did you lose her? Dad_s records say that you were born in Montebello, CA. Evidently your family sojourned here for awhile. Although dad_s short-term memory is pretty much gone, he can still recall a lot of historical stuff. I_ll remember you to him. He is in pretty good health other that the memory problems at this point. Have been scrambling to get him long-term care. I have vague memories of relatives visiting when we were young, but there weren_t many occasions. Dad kept up with most when he travelled with mom, and later Eleanor, after we were all grown. My mom was Martha Jayne Stephens (Smith). Married to Earl Smith and I am their daughter, Victoria. I know when I was really young we came to Pasadena once to see the Rose Bowl Parade. That is about all I can remember. Your dad came to Montana to see my mom and dad a couple of times and that is where we got acquainted again. I am sad to hear about Eleanor. I am even sadder to hear about Bill. Maybe he would remember us, I don_t know. He sent me a book of all my relatives on my mother_s side. I would very much like to hear from you. | |
