Farmhouse was moved around the corner, and existed as late as 1964. 80 acres Moved in 1900 to the Florida Station farm, north of Anderson, 140 acres, triangle shape bordering a railroad. Maybe about 1910 at 4 Daughters, pearl one, Barney jr. "Sweet" was driving the buggy, horse ran away, pearl dragged, pearl seriously injury, in surgery they were "whacking at her skull" Barney Flanagan brought the horseraces (trotters) to the Anderson fairgrounds on e. 8th street about 1905. His wife Mary wanted to go home and wanted to go home on the train but had no money. Had four kids with her, one was probably Dad's mother. Too proud to ask her husband for train fare so they walked home about 4 miles. | |
