Obituary Christle, 72, commercial artist, died.
     Funeral services for Edward L Christle, former assistant manager of the commercial art department of the Sunpapers, will be held at 1pm tomorrow at Ascension Evangelical Lutheran Church, 7601 York Rd, Towson.
     Mr Christle, who was 72, died Monday at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center after a long illness.
     Born in Baltimore, he attended the public schools here and was a graduate of the Maryland Institute. He became a commercial artist for the Sunpapers in 1918, remaining in the employ of the publishing firm for 27 years, having left in 1945 to join a commercial art firm. Later he had his own studio, which, after his retirement about ten years ago, he maintained at his home in Towson.
     At the former Redeamer Lutheran Church, Mr Christle had been active as Sunday School superintendent, teacher of the men's Bible class, and baritone soloist.
     Surviving are his wife of 50 years, the former Catherine Hefner; two daughters, Mrs Betty C Gore of Towson, and Mrs Isabelle C Shenton of Baltimore; a sister, Mrs Isabelle R Carl of Westchester PA; a stepsister, Mrs Ruth R Scrivener of Bethesda; a stepbrother, Charles O Revelle of Lutherville; a cousin, Mrs Bernice F Corell Avis of Catonsville, and other cousins.2

(Witness) Occupation John Campbell (Rev) (Immigrant 1717);      For nearly one hundred years there was a Dr Campbell practising medicine in Putney. Other doctor members of this family were prominent and famous physicians elsewhere in the state. The first of the Putney doctors was Dr John Compbell who came from Oxford MA and was in practise here by 1786. He was born in 1754, married Martha Stevens of Oxford and died in 1820. At his death his home place was deeded to David Crawford and later became the property of Mrs Caddie Fuller who lives there now. When Dr Campbell came to Putney, the famous Dr Josiah Goodhue was the town's physician and the two practised amicably until 1803 when Dr Goodhue moved to Chester VT. Dr Campbell remained the leading practitioner in town for 34 years. Following Dr John was his brother Dr Alexander Campbell who was fifteen years youn
