They were in Hannibal NY 1840, perhaps as early as 1830. Census of the town of Hannibal taken June 1, 1850, name all of the children then born except the two oldest, Maria and Gertrude, and calls Ida L, Elira."5

The Vine Papers show the extract as all one household, with them being born in NY. 
Deed*1 April 1853 He was deed Bk 86 pg 554, recorded 16 Nov 1863. Sterling is just over the county line from Hannibal. on 1 April 1853 at Sterling, Oswego Co., New York.1 
Census1860*1860 He appeared on the 1860 census as the head of household, pg 69 (pg 319) (PO Lamont) #577-525, Talmadge, Ottawa Co., Michigan, Vine, Henry H 55 b.NY carpenter $0-$55. 
Deed30 March 1880 He was deed bk 98 pg 461 - Henry gave a deed for the same property acknowledged by the grantors next day and recorded 7 Apr 1860. The date of this transaction fixes approximately the time of the familiy's removal to Minnesota. on 30 March 1880 at Sterling, Oswego Co., New York.1
