Birth*8 February 1890 Mary Greb was born on 8 February 1890 at Russia.
Anecdote*1911 "My father ... had an uncle that lived in Winnipeg. ... My father worked for him. Then in 1911 my Dad told his uncle that he wanted to get married. So uncle Chris told my father that he just happened to have a pcture of my mother's family. So my father picked my mother's sister. Then when it came time for Katherine to come to Canada, she chickened out. So my mom told her dad that she would go. So her father said ok, and he said that my mother should take George with her. So she and George left for Canada via Liverpool. But then George got homesick. She telgraphed her father and he told her then to come back, but my mom said she'd send George home to Russia and she was going by herself. She knew uncle Chris when he was still in Russia. So going to the Americas, North US, and South America was like going to Heaven. So my mom was kind of a Picture Bride. The original Elsasser clan were from Luxenburg, then migrated to Russia and then on to North America and some to South America."
