In it he mentions wifeElizabeth to have the use of the southerly half of the house while she isa widow, and be provided with wood, etc. yearly by her sons John andJoseph, son John to have the southerly half of the homestead, and half ofthe other land, some of which was at 5 1 2 NEHG Register: He was made freeman, 9 Jan., 1673/4, was acordwainer,captain-lieutenant in the militia, and deacon of the First Parish. In 1698 he preached the election sermon. About 1702 he wrote thE memoirof his uncle Rev. James Noyes, in Mather's Magnolia. Mass. and Maine Families: Represented the town in the GeneralCourt 1709-1712.1
