William Green Birth: 1743 Death: 1815 Burial: First Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Ewing, New Jersey Note: The William whom married Phebe Moore is buried in the First PresbyterianChurch Cemetery in Ewing NJ. Other headstones in a line with his are:sons - Elijah & Samuel; daughter - Mary; wife - Phebe; a stone withpartial name 'ABAIL'- might be Phebe's sister, Abigail Moore. One otherstone is said to belong to the William who died in 1722. Some researchers believe that William3 inherited William1's brick housethat is still standing today on the campus of Trenton State College, directly from William2 who had inherited it from William1. Publishedworks by Robert Reeder Greene allude to this fact as does a plaque placedon the house in 1927. However, William1's will clearly states that heleft his newly built brick house to his eldest son, Richard and that hisyounger sons, Joseph & William2 were to share the house & plantation thatWilliam1 had purchased from John Severns. it is my opinion, that, perhaps, someone has exercised a little literary license here or that thefull story has not been discovered yet.
