| Note* | Harry Hooker and John Hooker of Athens VT father/son relation and father's brothers https://web.archive.org/web/20120831175249/http://boards.ancestry.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.allegany/2300/mb.ashx John's son Harry Hooker wrote the following about his father "my fathers first name was John he was a Vermonter of the Town of Athens Windham Co he came to Angelica in 1808 or 9 with a wife & 9 children all of who are ded I was born 5 years later being the only one left of the 13 children my Father had 3 brothers (Asel) H come to Angelica Ruel setled at Pokeepsie near New York uncle Isral in Syracuse at the salt works". Another clue was sent by Kathy Gilbert, a page from an unidentified book, that says on pg 304, a section of Townshend, "The first settlers in the town of Action were Riverius Hooker, John Hooker, Ruel Hooker, Noah Fisher, Eleazor Fisher, and Ebenezer Bivins, in 1781, the latter three of whom became the first permanent settlers, as the others returned to their homes in Athens."
