Marriage*1 January 1871 Mary Jane Gambill married James Haggerty (Immigrant prior 1870) on 1 January 1871 at Belton, Cass Co., Missouri; They definitely married on Jan 1st, as that is what is stated in James' pension by Mary in 1909. She puts the year as 1866 "that she believes that to be the date". However, they had not yet married in the 1870 census and their first child wasn't born until 1874, so the year would be between 1870 and 1873. In the 1900 census it says they've been married 30 years, which would make it 1870 but since we know they weren't yet married in 1870, it has to be 1871.
