Mr. Speer was born July 22, 1900, at Russell County He was a farmer, owned and operated the Speer Guernsey Dairy and was superintendent of Abilene Grain Elevator. He was preceded In death by his wife, Llllle, In 1994; three grandsons; and two great grandchildren. Survivors Include five daughters, Muriel Miller of Sylvia, Maurine Georgiades of Altadena, Calif., Audrey Kessler. of Denver, Elaine Robson of Buhler and Sharon Grove of St. John; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Abilene Cemetery A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. Monday at Brethren In Christ Church, Abilene. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Brethren in Christ Church or Mennonite Central Committee in care of Buhler Mortuary 120 N. Main, Buhler 67522.
