     Mrs. Cornelia E. Newsome, 103, of 420 E. Second St., died at 10:45 p.m. Sunday at Greene Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient one day.
A Xenia resident for 63 years, she was born Nov. 11, 1863, to David and Mary Rodgers Freeman at Albany, O. She was a retired practical nurse.
In 1886, she married Charles E. Newsome, who was a medical doctor and an ordained minister. At the time of his death in 1904 he was the pastor of the St. John AME Church.
     Mrs. Newsome, a member of the First AME Church, was preceded in death by five children. Survivors are a grandson, Carlos Newsome of Xenia; a granddaughter, Mrs. Anthony Williams of Altadena, Calif; three great-grandchildren and five gret-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First AME Church with Rev. F. H. Shipes officiating. Burial will be in Cherry Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Winfrey Funeral Home, 335 E. Market St., from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.3
