Ancestry of DeWolf Melvin Stanley and Lorraine Ellsworth Stanley

Welcome to the Stanley Project, a Memorial to DeWolf Melvin Stanley

Stan, as he was known, was born May 19, 1924 in Elmira, New York, died February 12, 2004. He was a loving father, husband, and grandfather. He also enjoyed being a jazz musician, genealogist, sailor, stamp collector and Christian servant for peace through the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A. Dewolf graduated from the University of Michigan as a Phi Gamma Delta and went on for an MBA at UCLA as he pursued a career in aerospace engineering. He served in World War II receiving the Purple Heart and went on to construct the Blue Horizons Hotel in Grenada, West Indies. Predeceased by Norma Herber Stanley, he is survived by a daughter, Denise Stanley; his grandson Nicolas; and his sister Lorraine Berlin. He will be missed more than words can express.

In his role as the family genealogist, Stan spent many years researching his family tree, and had hoped to publish some books with what he found. "Generations" is an ahnentafel way of showing the data as it came from the program he used, though using the links above are now a better way.

Generations: 1-4  || 5  || 6  || 7  || 8  || 9  || 10  || 11  || 12

Slowly, the family is getting the data into a format that is more condusive to indexing, and for linking to narratives, though no new information is being added at this time. He had his own uinique way of sourcing material - FH for family histories, PH for place histories, and MD for misc documentation. Part of the new format will be to link the source numbers but that's down the road a ways. Meanwhile you can look it up on the links source pages.
